Operation Uplift

The Operation Uplift program is one of the most vital services that NAS Whidbey Island MWR offers to its sailors. The mission of Operation Uplift is to support sailors and their families during all phases of deployment by providing outstanding programs, customer service and morale to ensure each sailor and family member has a successful deployment experience.

Pre-Deployment

We bid "fair winds and following seas" to each command during our farewell salute reception. We host a small reception at either the hangar or air terminal for departures.

During Deployment

We continue deployment support with a mid-deployment celebration for families. Operation Uplift provides two hours of bowling, pizza, soda and cookies for all to enjoy. We can also send recreation and fitness supplies, such video gaming consoles, TV's, softball gear, ping pong to commands located at remote detachment sites.

Homecoming

"Project Homecoming" is the final phase of deployment support provided by Operation Uplift. We provide refreshments and supplies for homecomings of jets and main bodies. Our staff will contact both the advanced detachment and the Family Readiness Group to plan a memorable homecoming.

Command Party Rentals

Operation Uplift is your place to go for planning functions and parties. We can provide equipment at no charge to commands for official command functions, such as homecomings, changes of command and command picnics.

The equipment is for use only on government property, including but not limited to: Rocky Point and Costen-Turner Park. In order to support requests, reservations need to be made at least 10 business days prior to use. We can provide everything from canopies to inflatables to lawn volleyball. Check out all of the supplies we have available and contact us to submit your reservation request.
